Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Education and Employment Coach to join our team at Sasha Bruce Youthwork Inc. The ideal candidate will have a passion for empowering homeless youth to achieve their educational and career goals.

About the Role

The Education and Employment Coach will work closely with clients in our PASSAGES and Philip Reid programs to develop employment skills, increase income through employment, and meet education goals. They will also facilitate workshops on relevant topics such as study skills development, resume creation, interview preparation, and college applications.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate participants through education, work readiness, and career assessments to develop plans to meet educational and employment goals.
  • Build partnerships with area businesses for job placement and staffing agencies to identify appropriate employment opportunities for clients.
  • Actively support clients in the job search process and submission of resumes, applications, cover letters, and interview preparation.
  • Meet regularly with employed clients to discuss concerns or issues happening in the workplace and provide supports and individualized trainings to address these concerns.
  • Create overall curriculum for clients in programming and facilitate trainings and workshops on relevant topics.
  • Provide referrals as appropriate and needed, such as GED preparation, tutoring services, and crisis intervention and on-site counseling when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Social Work, psychology, or a human services-related field or three years of experience working with at-risk youth, vulnerable populations - preferably homeless populations.
  • Knowledge of colleges, universities, and vocational schools both locally and nationally.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.

What We Offer

A competitive estimated salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
