Job Summary

The Program Manager has a key role in supporting the Caregiver Navigator Capacity Initiative efforts at USAging. The goal of USAging and our partners in the Caregiver Navigator Capacity Initiative is to build and enhance the capacity of the Aging Network to offer effective caregiver navigator services in Older Americans Act-funded Title III-E/VI-C programs by the entities administering them.

We will work closely with Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and Title VI Native American Programs to better understand the use of caregiver navigation services and models implemented across the network, design and test approaches for delivering caregiver navigation services, and provide technical assistance to the Aging Network to scale and replicate the most successful models.

The ideal candidate will be an efficient and proactive manager who is organized, strategic, and an excellent communicator able to balance multiple activities daily.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the development, implementation, and evaluation of the project work plan and budget.
  • Work with funders, vendors, and partners to facilitate an efficient process for the administration and completion of activities.
  • Serve as liaison to funders on project issues.
  • Ensure program remains in compliance and meets all auditing standards.
  • Manage conference and event planning efforts related to the initiative.
  • Serve as a spokesperson, speaking at in-person and virtual training sessions, conferences, and other venues.
  • Utilize project management tools, including Excel and project management tools, to organize and manage program activities.
  • Take a lead role with writing program materials, including email blasts/social media, surveys, topical guides, reports, and technical assistance materials.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and via telephone/Microsoft Teams/Zoom with USAging members, partners, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare project reports and summaries of program activities as required.
  • Review and approve financial reports and expenses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree preferred plus at least five years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of the Aging Network and issues related to caregiving.
  • Two years supervisory experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to plan ahead, meet deadlines, and balance multiple projects.
  • Ability to keep track of details and timelines and effectively communicate the most relevant information to supervisors/colleagues.
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Survey Monkey or other survey platforms and webinar broadcast platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and build external relationships.
  • Must have an all-hands-on-deck attitude and a willingness to pitch in when needed.
  • Self-starter with proven organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through, even in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for USAging's mission of helping older adults age in place and maintain their health and independence for as long as possible.

Benefits and Compensation

USAging is an Equal Opportunity Employer offering a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year. We also offer fully paid individual health, dental, and vision coverage; retirement savings plan with a 10 percent employer contribution; and generous vacation and sick leave.

We are based in Washington, DC, and qualified candidates outside of the Washington, DC area will be considered. The successful candidate will be able to attend the USAging Annual Conference and Tradeshow each summer for up to six days.
