We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Housing Navigator at N Street Village Inc.

N Street Village Inc. supports women in Washington, D.C. experiencing homelessness by providing a wide range of services, housing, and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.

Job Description

The Housing Navigator plays a crucial role in supporting clients to secure and maintain stable housing. This position combines case management and housing navigation services to address clients' holistic needs while helping them transition to and sustain permanent housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build Rapport with Clients: Establish strong relationships with clients through regular contact and communication to understand their housing and support needs.
  • Create a Safe Environment: Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to discuss and resolve challenges related to housing, financial concerns, employment, recovery, and mental health.
  • Provide Individualized Services: Offer personalized case management services, meeting with clients bi-weekly or as outlined in contracts.
  • Coordinate Services: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery, including referrals for housing and supportive services.

Qualifications:

  • A combination of education and experience totaling at least 5 years, focusing on mental health, physical health, addiction, aging, or trauma.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred in a Human Services discipline such as Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience providing case management services.
