This part-time position is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Global Kids as a Youth Leadership Specialist. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a passion for youth development, global education, and community engagement.

Job Responsibilities

">
  • ">
  • Develop and implement interactive workshops and activities aligned with Global Kids' key 4 pillars (global education, academic success, college and career prep, and social-emotional wellness)">
  • Collaborate with staff and youth to generate new program ideas focusing on global/local issues and meeting the goals of contracted initiatives">
  • Design relevant content and curriculum on global issues and 21st-century skills while supporting social and emotional learning">
  • Serve as a positive, encouraging & affirming mentor for GK youth">
  • Implement student outreach, recruitment, and retention strategies throughout the year">
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with multiple stakeholders such as students, families, school personnel, policymakers, and other community members">
  • Work with other staff and students to implement the annual Global Kids Youth Conference, action projects, and other special opportunities">
  • Serve as a lead site point of contact for school-based programs in collaboration with the GK-DC senior team">
  • Collect, input, and review attendance, enrollment, evaluation, and other data related to projects and student progress">

Requirements

  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or five years of relevant professional experience">
  • Strong understanding of a wide array of DC social service resources for youth and families">
  • Experience using interactive experiential learning strategies, counseling, conflict resolution skills, and youth development/leadership strategies with middle school and/or high school-age youth">
  • Excellent facilitation, consensus-building, and interpersonal skills">
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, creativity, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently">
  • Strong communication, writing, administrative, organizational, and technology skills (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Zoom)">
  • Knowledge of and passion for global issues, political science, history, education and social justice, and human rights">
