Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator for Community and Leadership Development will provide program and leadership focus for one of the affinity communities under the umbrella of OPAL. This role will co-advise student leaders, plan and oversee the implementation of signature programs, provide opportunities for student leadership development, coordinate outreach, and facilitate educational training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-advising student leaders and planning signature programs
- Providing opportunities for student leadership development and coordinating outreach
- Facilitating educational training and workshops
- Working with a diverse community and handling sensitive information with confidentiality
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years' relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple issues and competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education and experience in student affairs, multicultural and social justice education, gender and sexuality studies, ethnic studies, international education, and/or leadership development
- Project and event management experience
- Experience working in Student Services
- Applicable experiences in working with and/or advocating on behalf of women, international, first-generation students, students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, and/or marginalized student communities
