Job Overview

The MRI Supervisor at Novant Health oversees the daily operations of the magnetic resonance imaging department, ensuring seamless coordination and continuous improvement of core processes. This leadership role is responsible for guiding the professional growth and development of team members, providing education, training, and mentorship to enhance their skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care and Safety: Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, operate MRI equipment, and assist physicians in obtaining diagnostic scans, ensuring compliance with MRI safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Foster a collaborative environment, promoting teamwork, and encouraging continuous learning among team members. Provide guidance, support, and resources to help them excel in their roles.
  • Operational Efficiency and Quality: Monitor and improve departmental processes, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining high-quality standards in patient care and imaging services.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure adherence to MRI safety standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation protocols, maintaining a safe and compliant environment for patients and staff.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED, required. Two-year associate degree or higher, preferred. Graduate of an ARRT-approved radiography program or MRI program, required.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in MRI, required. Minimum two years of experience in supervision, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified and registered by ARRT in MRI – RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR), required. Magnetic Resonance Safety Certified by ABMRS – MRSO (MRSCTM), preferred. IV credentialed, required. Applicable state license, required.
