Job Title: Substance Abuse Program Coordinator

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with the Department of Adult Correction. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational and administrative aspects of the assigned residential building(s) through direct supervision of the Substance Abuse Worker (SAW) staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop work schedules and delegate duties to SAW staff
  • Supervise daily activities within the building and monitor/interact with residents/staff to ensure building safety, security, and audit compliance
  • Conduct performance appraisals and deliver disciplinary actions to assigned staff as necessary
  • Collaborate with other ACDP programs to ensure coordination of facility service delivery and ongoing staff development/training
Requirements:
  • Credentialed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or equivalent credential from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board
  • Documented knowledge of audit processes and report writing or clinical documentation
  • Minimum of four years' experience working in a criminal justice environment within a correctional facility, jail-based substance abuse treatment program, or a community-based substance treatment program that serves offenders adjudicated through the criminal justice system
