Position Overview
As a vital member of the healthcare team at Stony Brook University, the Nuclear Medicine Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional clinical services to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a Nuclear Medicine Radiologic Technologist encompass a range of essential tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Conducting diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring optimal patient positioning and transfer.
  • Utilizing immobilization devices and selecting appropriate technical parameters tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Operating specialized equipment while adhering to prescribed safety protocols.
  • Assisting physicians in the administration of contrast media and overseeing the execution of routine and specialized procedures.
  • Providing guidance and instruction to students and ancillary staff regarding established protocols and equipment operation.
  • Participating in quality control assessments and engaging in research activities within the specialty.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of an outpatient Nuclear Cardiology Lab.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Current licensure by the New York State Department of Health in Nuclear Medicine Radiology Technology.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Certification from NMTCB and/or ARRT, along with CAT Scan Certification.
Preferred:
  • Experience in Nuclear Medicine and hospital settings.
