Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is an integral part of the healthcare team at Brown University, serving the diverse student population. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient intake and preparation, assisting medical providers, performing waived tests, stocking, cleaning, and scheduling appointments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist medical providers with patient care and administrative tasks
  • Perform waived tests and procedures as required
  • Stock and maintain medical supplies and equipment
  • Clean and disinfect patient areas and equipment
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow

Requirements

  • Certification from a medical assistant training program or equivalent
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Clinical experience in an ambulatory setting
  • CPR certification
  • Minimum one-year medical office experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide culturally competent care to a diverse population
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment
  • Orientation towards quality customer service
  • Computer efficiency and experience with electronic health records
