Job Summary:

AMF Bakery Systems is the world's leading manufacturer of high-speed bakery equipment. We provide complete automated bakery solutions for numerous categories, including Soft Bread & Roll, Artisan Bread & Roll, Cake & Pie, Pizza & Flatbread, and Pastry & Croissant.

We are seeking a driven and self-motivated Sales Engineer to work together with our Sales and Engineering Teams as part of a team-selling approach to maintain existing accounts and develop new business opportunities for AMF Bakery Systems.

The Sales Engineer will be focused on providing support to the Sales Director and Regional Account Managers (RAMs) with the goal of providing superior baking equipment and solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support in helping the Sales Team identify, prioritize, and develop leads into Opportunities and Proposals.
  • Reviewing customer requests and engineering specifications and verifying requirements with Customer and Engineering Teams.
  • Helping develop a focused proposal strategy in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management Teams.
  • Helping in conducting site audits and producing layout drawings.
  • Working with the Sales and Engineering Teams to produce Proposals and review before submittal.
  • Helping manage all customer activity, opportunities, and proposals through CRM Software.
  • Continually updating CRM and Forecast Lists in collaboration with Sales Team.
  • Helping prepare and present technical presentations and sales proposals for customers.
  • Attending sales review meetings with the Sales Director.
  • Helping prepare and review sales contracts, engineering specification documents, and sales orders for processing.
  • Participating in turnover meetings following the award of contracts.
  • Partnering with Project Managers and Engineering Teams to deliver products and solutions per contract requirements.
  • Partnering with the Product Management and Product Development teams to research/develop new products/equipment.
  • Supporting work in the Innovation Centers.
  • Participating in trade shows and collaborating with Marketing Team.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, and establishing networking relationships.

  • Must be willing/able to travel to visit customers, potential customers, trade shows, and industry functions; requiring approximately 25-30% travel and should have easy access to a major airport (weekend travel may be required to accommodate customer's or trade show schedule).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electronic, Mechatronic, etc.) or Food/Bakery Science or equivalent industry experience is desirable.
  • No previous experience is necessary but experience with baking, or food processing equipment or related B2B sales would be beneficial.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience with Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software, and ability to interpret layout drawings.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have a demonstrated ability to provide timely feedback to both internal and external customers.
