Compensation: $19.85 per hour

The Flight Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing the workflow and ensuring that Wheelchair Assistants are efficiently assigned to flights.

This role requires collaboration with team members to guarantee that accurate information is relayed from clients and passengers, facilitating timely arrivals of agents for flights. Effective planning and prompt communication are crucial for maintaining a smooth operation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize tickets at the beginning of the day for the wheelchair service team.
  • Handle incoming communications from the service team (wheelchair and airline personnel) throughout the day to monitor wheelchair locations and job progress.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  • Transmit work orders, messages, and information to and from work crews using telecommunication devices.
  • Take primary responsibility for all activities related to dispatching wheelchair and walker vehicles.
  • Step in for Wheelchair Assistants as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Availability to work various shifts.
  • Ability to obtain an Airport Badge is mandatory.
  • Experience in operations is preferred.
  • Strong multitasking abilities are essential.
  • Customer service experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in dispatching or coordinating transportation for groups is beneficial.
  • Proficient in using two-way radios and telecommunication equipment.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, internet, and email; Excel experience is preferred.
  • Dependable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • Prior experience in dispatching and computer operations is preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.

Professional Appearance Standards

Employees are expected to maintain a professional and business-like appearance at all times, even when working behind the scenes. The company mandates that each employee's attire, grooming, and personal hygiene align with business standards.

  • Male employees may have a well-groomed mustache, beard, or goatee.
  • No visible tattoos or body piercings are permitted; tattoos must be concealed by uniforms or other approved means.
  • Clean and well-maintained uniforms are required during shifts.
  • Additional requirements may be specified by management.

While performing job duties, employees are regularly required to use their hands and communicate with customers and colleagues. Frequent activities include sitting, reaching, standing, and walking. Employees may also need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The role requires the ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly and to move quickly when necessary. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
