Facilities Operations Coordinator Overview:

College Housing Northwest (CHNW) is on the lookout for a dedicated full-time, exempt Facilities Operations Coordinator. This role will involve collaboration with teams across our diverse portfolio of six housing communities. CHNW, established in 1969, specializes in managing supportive housing tailored specifically for students, emphasizing programs that alleviate financial burdens. The Facilities Operations Coordinator will play a vital role in assisting the Facilities Manager, ensuring that maintenance services are delivered effectively to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and execute maintenance tasks personally while overseeing technicians and external vendors.
  • Conduct inspections and evaluations of work performed by maintenance personnel and contractors.
  • Coordinate and review the timely completion of work orders, apartment renovations, and necessary repairs.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations, including EPA and OSHA standards for hazardous materials management.
  • Guide staff on the proper use of personal protective equipment and safety protocols.
  • Engage in the recruitment, training, and oversight of maintenance personnel.
  • Support leadership in the formulation of procedures, protocols, and training documentation.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels of parts and materials to address various maintenance needs.

Qualifications:

  • While a Bachelor's degree is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in property maintenance across multiple locations.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC operations.
  • Experience in managing staff and vendor schedules and workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
  • Certifications such as Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) or Certified Manager of Maintenance (CMM) are beneficial but not required.
  • A valid and current driver's license is necessary for travel between communities.
