Compensation: $19.85 per hour
The Passenger Service Dispatcher is responsible for managing operations and ensuring that Wheelchair Assistants are efficiently assigned to flights. This role requires collaboration with the team to ensure that accurate information is communicated between clients and passengers, facilitating timely arrivals for flights. Effective planning and prompt communication are crucial for a successful operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute tickets at the beginning of the day for the wheelchair service team.
- Monitor calls from the service team (wheelchair and airline personnel) throughout the day to track the status and location of wheelchair services.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
- Communicate work orders, messages, and information to and from service teams using telephones or two-way radios.
- Oversee all activities related to the dispatching of wheelchair and walker vehicles.
- Provide support by filling in for Wheelchair Assistants as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Availability for various shifts is required.
- Ability to obtain an Airport Badge is necessary.
- Experience in operations is preferred.
- Strong multitasking abilities are essential.
- Customer service experience is advantageous.
- Experience in dispatching or coordinating transportation for groups is beneficial.
- Proficient in using two-way radios and telephone communication.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, internet, and email; Excel experience is preferred.
- Dependable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Prior dispatching and computer experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
Professional Appearance Standards
Employees are expected to maintain a professional and business-like appearance at all times, even when working behind the scenes. The Company’s policy mandates that each employee's attire, grooming, and personal hygiene should align with the business standards.
- Male employees may have a well-groomed mustache, beard, or goatee.
- No visible tattoos or body piercings are permitted; tattoos must be covered by the uniform or other approved means.
- Approved uniforms must be clean and well-maintained during shifts.
- Additional requirements may be specified by management.
While performing job duties, employees are regularly required to use their hands and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues. Frequent activities include sitting, reaching, standing, and walking. Employees may also need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly is required, along with the capacity to move quickly when necessary. Specific vision abilities needed for this role include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
