Currently, we have openings for PRN Ultrasound Technicians. Successful candidates will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations independently, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging standards. You will also assist Radiologists during specialized procedures.



KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION & LICENSURE: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program recognized by the Joint Review Committee for Radiologic Technology Education (JRCRTE). Valid state licensure is required.

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, & JOB KNOWLEDGE: Completion of an accredited Ultrasound program and familiarity with JACHO standards. Proficient in performing a range of ultrasound procedures.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct ultrasound examinations as requested, including biopsies.

2. Utilize portable imaging equipment as necessary.

3. Perform ultrasounds on inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room patients.

4. Transport patients as needed and process imaging films.

5. Forward imaging results to Radiologists and discuss findings with emergency room physicians when required.

6. Participate in peer group interviews and assist with workload during peak times.

7. Manage supply orders and stock levels.

8. Troubleshoot equipment issues by investigating problems and notifying the appropriate personnel.

9. Collaborate with colleagues in patient transport and procedures.

10. Stay informed about performance improvement projects and participate in departmental initiatives.

11. Attend departmental meetings and hospital training sessions.

12. Assist in orienting new employees to departmental protocols.

13. Adhere to IMC Standards of Performance, Hospital Goals, and Department Objectives.

14. Responsible for scheduling and managing continuing education costs.
