Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Perinatal Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at New Orleans East Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic medical ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images of various OB-GYN conditions.
  • Perform ultrasound guidance for amniocentesis, chorionic villi sampling, and other procedures commonly performed in a Maternal Fetal Medicine practice.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance, report of equipment failures, high-level disinfection of equipment, and quality assessment/improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of exams and procedures.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication, ensuring patients and families are informed and comfortable throughout the examination process.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Sonography.
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) certification.
  • Fetal Nuchal Translucency Certification.
  • Sonography Certification.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic of Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MFM sonography experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of fetal anatomy and fetal circulatory system.
  • Ability to function in a sterile environment during procedures.

This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging department. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity while providing exceptional patient care.
