Position Overview:

As a Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist, you will operate under general supervision to conduct vascular and echocardiography ultrasound assessments for patients. Your role will involve engaging in a variety of specialized technical evaluation procedures, including the analysis of digitized electrocardiography (ECG) tapes, Holter monitoring, and cardiac ultrasound, while generating quantitative arrhythmia reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic cardiovascular and echocardiography ultrasound assessments in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Identify and document internal body structures, such as blood vessels and organs, while recognizing any abnormalities that may indicate disease or injury.
  • Perform both imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations, including exercise tolerance tests, Holter monitoring, event recorders, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Adjust equipment settings and provide clear explanations of procedures to help patients feel at ease and minimize test artifacts.
  • Monitor patients for any potentially hazardous physical or emotional changes during examinations.
  • Recognize abnormal rhythms and promptly notify the supervising physician; evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy, and collaborate with peers for review.
  • Communicate preliminary findings to physicians as required, following departmental protocols.
  • Ensure the distribution of completed test results to physicians and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including diagnosis and billing codes, and update patient information systems as necessary.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and work areas to uphold safety standards.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and either adjust the equipment or refer it for repair.
  • Instruct patients on pretest preparations, address inquiries, and clarify procedures.
  • Prepare patient rooms and maintain inventory for procedures, including linens and electrodes; order supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to all Amergis and worksite policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or relevant experience in a related field is preferred, in accordance with state requirements.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a Cardiovascular Technician is preferred.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice is essential.
  • Participation in and completion of the Amergis Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable.
  • Completion of TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
  • Current health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training relevant to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations is required.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively exchange information with supervisors, colleagues, and clients; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
