Your role transcends traditional job expectations.

The Cardiac Sonography Technician Associate is responsible for delivering patient care during diagnostic cardiac ultrasound assessments and studies, operating under the guidance of leadership and appropriate supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Exhibits expertise and quality in executing the technical components of Diagnostic Ultrasound as per departmental protocols:

Conducts echocardiograms and vascular evaluations within the limits of training and expertise. Adjusts the scope of examination based on identified irregularities. Chooses suitable transducers and settings for each assessment.

Assists medical professionals with transesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.

Keeps detailed records of all procedures performed and archives patient examinations systematically.

Patient Safety:

Operates equipment safely and competently.

Conducts daily inspections of ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

Reports any equipment malfunctions promptly through the designated channels.

Confirms patient identity and the procedure to be conducted in line with JCAHO standards.

Departmental Duties:

Ensures examination rooms and equipment are sanitized and maintained between patient visits.

Monitors inventory and alerts appropriate personnel when supplies are low.

Customer Engagement:

Prepares preliminary reports and communicates with referring physicians as necessary, following established protocols.

Collaborates with team members to ensure comprehensive patient care is delivered.

Takes responsibility for the safety and welfare of all patients within the Sonography department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility for registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute.

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
