Position Overview

The Team Lead - Press Operation is tasked with delivering leadership that fosters sustained excellence both individually and organizationally, while upholding the mission and values of NHBB. Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Team Lead encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Deliver and/or secure the essential training and guidance necessary for team members to effectively perform their roles.
  2. Coordinate the establishment of pre-planning with the team, which includes machine and personnel assignments, required gauging, tooling, and ensuring adherence to established Standard Procedures and Quality Instructions.
  3. Facilitate team activities to guarantee production and process quality, which includes:
  • Conducting First Article inspections;
  • Ensuring compliance with quality procedures;
  • Implementing Statistical Process Control (SPC);
  • Overseeing gauging practices;
  • Managing document control for daily production targets;
  • Maintaining a clear understanding of applicable quality standards.
Drive production and quality enhancements within the work area to achieve objectives such as:
  • Maximizing machine and personnel efficiency (cycle times);
  • Reducing scrap rates;
  • Implementing process improvements (enhanced tooling and setup times).
Maintain effective communication among all team members across shifts, ensuring collaboration between teams and necessary support personnel, while providing feedback to department heads.Participate in machine or process setup, operation, inspection, or other tasks as needed to meet team objectives.Ensure the upkeep of the work area, focusing on:
  • Housekeeping;
  • Equipment condition;
  • Overall organization of workstations;
  • Proper storage and handling of components.

Shift Responsibilities

  • Oversee adherence to safety and security protocols and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure that instructions from department Team Leads are followed by employees on subsequent shifts.
  • Manage administrative tasks for subsequent shifts.
  • Oversee emergency procedures as necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in NHBB Primary operations.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in NHBB machine shop operations is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities are necessary.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the organization are crucial.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential for effective interaction with staff and leadership.
  • Accountability for achieving required outcomes is expected.

Note: Physical job requirements may include standing, using hands for assembly, lifting, carrying, bending, and stooping throughout the workday.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
