Job Summary:

Doherty | The Employment Experts is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of production staff and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Operational Plans: Create and implement operational plans that meet departmental and plant goals in Safety, Quality, On-Time delivery, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage Production Scheduling: Oversee production scheduling to include order accuracy, staffing to demand levels, and ensure departments are properly staffed.
  • Identify and Eliminate Process Bottlenecks: Analyze and act to eliminate process bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, unsafe behavior, and maintenance problems.
  • Monitor Inventory Levels: Ensure inventory levels are accurate and monitor scrap rates.
  • Counsel and Motivate Team Members: Provide feedback to department personnel through one-on-one coaching and team meetings.
  • Present Ideas and Information: Proactively present ideas and information concisely, accurately, and clearly in both oral and written form.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Actively participate or facilitate Tier Meetings, follow Leader Standard Work, and ensure the plant sustains a robust 5s program.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or related field.
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Skills: Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic business environment.
  • Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and product/process capabilities.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team building, coaching, and ability to build a culture and motivate people.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proven ability to assume ownership of the process and drive continuous improvement.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Safety and Quality Focus: Must be safety, quality, and lean-focused.
  • Flexibility: Ability to flex schedule and work extended hours, as needed, depending on business needs.
