Position Overview:
The ideal Manufacturing Supervisor will possess outstanding manufacturing expertise, along with practical knowledge and experience operating various CNC machinery and controls. Candidates should be adept at interpreting customer job travelers and work orders, reading mechanical blueprints, preparing and installing computer control programs for machining centers, selecting and inspecting appropriate tooling, and operating computer-controlled machining centers within a collaborative and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with shop personnel and department heads to coordinate work across all shifts.
- Assist employees in enhancing efficiency while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Lead efforts to achieve and surpass production targets.
- Develop and implement training programs, while enforcing production policies and procedures.
- Utilize gaging and inspection tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Ensure adherence to company certification and ISO registration requirements.
- Oversee the presetting process to maximize equipment utilization.
- Monitor workloads and schedules to guarantee timely deliveries while upholding quality standards.
- Engage daily with the company ERP system.
- Identify training, machinery, tooling, and process requirements for the department.
- Manage departmental expenses and budgets effectively.
- Plan sequences and review time standards for part routings.
- Support and promote management-directed lean process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records to meet customer demands.
- Meet departmental and personal productivity and quality expectations, striving for continuous improvement.
- Report any machinery or process issues to management or maintenance.
- Effectively multitask and manage various responsibilities simultaneously.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols established by the company, including proper equipment usage and procedures.
Required Attributes:
- Demonstrates strong leadership by exemplifying a solid work ethic and supporting team members.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues and fosters a collaborative environment.
- Maintains excellent attendance, as regular and punctual attendance is crucial for this role.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Knowledgeable in tooling, fixtures, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven track record of high work standards, quality, and teamwork.
- Competent in operating and performing on multiple machine tools.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Able to inspect machined components using various inspection tools.
- Strong mathematical and blueprint reading skills.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Five to ten years of experience in the manufacturing sector, with a solid understanding of speeds and feeds, and at least two years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Familiarity with MS applications.
- Strong mathematical skills and aptitude.

Work Environment:
A significant portion of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures can vary. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and coolant vapors. The company provides standard safety equipment, and specific notices are posted in areas where safety gear is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
Employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long-term disability, and a 401(k) plan with up to a 6% company match.
The compensation range for the Manufacturing Supervisor position is $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Some shifts may offer differential pay rates. Compensation ranges may vary by location.
