Position Overview

Salary Range:

Position Description
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is seeking up to two tenured full-time faculty members at the associate or full professor level.

We welcome applications from scholars whose research aligns with the following focus areas:
  • Advancing healthy aging and family caregiving through innovative technology, including personalized digital health solutions and community-level interventions.
  • Research on digital health equity and social justice aimed at enhancing access to technology and health promotion initiatives for diverse older adults and their caregivers.
  • Development of healthy systems and enabling technologies, emphasizing human-centered design and community engagement among older populations.
  • Expertise in methodologies for the development and co-validation of digital health devices, data management, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve care quality for older adults and their caregivers.
  • Research experience that aligns with the Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative, focusing on shared decision-making, medication adherence, mobility, and cognitive health.
  • Prior involvement in grant-funded projects within an academic health system, collaborating with clinical scientists in geriatrics, family nursing, psychology, psychiatry, neurology, and remote healthcare delivery.

Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to develop and teach courses within the school's academic or certificate programs.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
A PhD or equivalent doctorate is required at the time of application, along with teaching, mentoring, and research experience. A degree in nursing or nursing science is also necessary.

Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated multidisciplinary collaboration with engineering and social science faculty, IT research professionals, and technology industry partners is essential. Evidence of leadership in research teams, collaboration, mentoring, and interdisciplinary work is expected. Previous extramural funding in relevant research areas is also required. A strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion for historically underrepresented and marginalized communities is anticipated.

Excellence in teaching, evidenced by the ability to develop graduate-level nursing courses and mentor doctoral nursing students, is crucial. Participation and leadership in service at the university, local, state, and national levels are also expected.

This full-time appointment will be at the rank of associate or full professor, with expectations for participation in school, college, and university service as part of the UC Davis Division of the Academic Senate.
