Position Description

The University of California, Davis is seeking a dedicated full-time academic clinical genetics faculty member to join the Division of Genomic Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics. This division comprises a diverse team of clinical faculty, including physician-scientists, board-certified specialists, genetic counselors, and support staff. Key focus areas include Autism and Neurodevelopmental genomics, Biochemical genetics/Newborn screening, Cardiovascular genomics, Craniofacial genetics, Connective tissue disorders, Lysosomal storage disorders, Ocular genomics, Precision genomics, Skeletal dysplasias, and TeleGenomics.

The Genomic Medicine division operates from a renowned interdisciplinary research center where collaboration among parents, community leaders, researchers, and clinicians is prioritized to study and manage Autism spectrum disorders and other Neurodevelopmental disorders. Major research initiatives focus on Autism, Fragile X Syndrome, Chromosome 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and RASopathies.

This opportunity is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, depending on the candidate's qualifications, within the Health Sciences Clinical Professor or Clinical X Pediatrics series. The selected candidate will engage in clinical practice, educational activities, community outreach, and research endeavors, while also serving on departmental committees.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (required at the time of application)

- M.D. or D.O.

- Board eligible/certified in Clinical Genetics

- Eligibility for a California Medical License

- Proven proficiency in teaching students and house staff

- Ability to foster collegiality and collaborate in a diverse environment

- Adherence to policies and procedures, along with demonstrated leadership experience

Additional Qualifications (required at the time of hire)

- Successful completion of an accredited ACGME Medical Genetics and Genomic Residency training program

Preferred Qualifications (additional, but not required)

- Experience in service roles, committee participation, leadership, and community outreach
