Chief Financial Officer for Construction Sector

Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned financial leader to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) within our construction division. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in financial management, particularly in the construction industry.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in a CFO or senior financial leadership capacity, preferably in the construction sector.
- In-depth understanding of accounting standards, financial legislation, and strategic business growth.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret intricate financial data.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with financial management software, especially Timberline, is advantageous.
Your Role
As the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing our financial operations, ensuring fiscal stability while promoting growth. Your leadership will be vital in managing financial activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering insights for strategic business decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
Management and Leadership
- Supervise all accounting operations for a company with revenues between $90M and $100M.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on business development initiatives and financial forecasting.
- Provide financial insights to support operational divisions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and analyses for executive leadership.
Financial Oversight
- Review financial statements, accounts receivable, job cost assessments, and journal entries.
- Stay updated on industry trends that may affect the organization.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential acquisitions.
- Analyze investment returns and monitor labor costs on a quarterly basis.
Treasury and Risk Management
- Oversee treasury operations, safeguarding excess cash and maximizing interest income.
- Negotiate terms for workers' compensation and general liability insurance.
- Participate in the planning of medical and dental policies and review RFPs for third-party administrators for medical or retirement plans.
- Manage fiduciary duties related to the 401(k) plan.
Client and Project Support
- Prepare annual cost forecasts for client rates and collaborate on rate structures.
- Generate contract review reports, analyzing profits and losses in conjunction with project managers.
- Validate contract setups and assist with budget sheets and cost coding.
Software and Technology Management
- Implement new software solutions to enhance efficiencies within the Timberline system.
- Design and generate necessary reports, assist IT in maintaining server integrity, and troubleshoot software challenges.
- Work with Timberline support to refine processes and update accrual tables annually.
Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and submit documentation to uphold state licenses and regulatory compliance.
- Investigate licensing requirements for potential new states and manage annual tax submissions.
Year-End Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR and PR on year-end benefits and changes to medical/dental plans.
- Prepare and review bonus incentive plans, presenting financial summaries to executive leadership for approval.
