Position Overview
The Department of Defense is seeking skilled professionals to ensure the seamless operation of our information technology systems. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
As an IT Specialist, you will:
- Engage in innovative problem-solving to adapt to evolving challenges.
- Oversee complex projects and initiatives, applying sound judgment and strategic principles.
- Develop analytical strategies to assess critical issues, derive insights from data, and propose effective solutions aligned with the Agency's mission.
- Foster an environment that encourages creativity and questions traditional methods.
- Provide expert advice on significant tasks and initiatives to support senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following skills will be highly regarded:
- Comprehensive experience with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) cycle for both Major Intelligence Program (MIP) and National Intelligence Program (NIP) funds.
- Familiarity with acquisition systems, processes, and best practices within the Department of Defense.
- Relevant training or certifications in Program Management.

Educational Requirements
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications through one of the following alternatives:
- **Alternative A**: A degree in computer science, information systems management, or a related field, or coursework that demonstrates knowledge in developing computer programs and systems.
- **Alternative B**: A degree in any field, combined with general analytical experience.

Experience Requirements
- For GS-5 positions: Basic knowledge of data processing functions and management principles.
- For GS-7 and above: Experience in translating logical steps into programming languages, operating computer systems, and preparing documentation for cost/benefit analyses.

Additional Information
This position is part of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) and requires U.S. citizenship.
