This position is a special sensitive (SS)/high risk position, that has duties and responsibilities that include the following:

Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Management 40%

Manages and directs processes and R&D (research and development) to meet the needs of AOC AI and cloud strategy. Analyze AI and cloud technologies to enhance efficiency, scalability and innovation in our IT infrastructure and services.

Designs, implements and manages AI and cloud solutions to meet the AOC's evolving needs while ensuring security, reliability and compliance.


Develops and implements AI solutions to automate processes, improve decision-making and enhance user experiences across various IT systems and applications.


Designs, deploys and maintains cloud-based infrastructure and services utilizing cloud services offerings such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).

Administration of Information Technology Systems 30%

Plans and analyzes systems configurations and the need for changes to support the AOC's General Support System (GSS).

Serves as the technical authority in information technology, with an emphasis on network infrastructure, network operating systems and management information systems.

As the technical authority, this person is responsible for introducing new technologies.

Develops and implements appropriate strategies for the orderly and systematic introduction of new state- of-the-art technologies throughout the Architect of the Capitol, including advisory memorandums, instructional manuals and training materials.

Provides training and expert technical assistance in various settings, classes, workshops, individual consultants, etc.

Implements security and privacy requirements.

Information Technology Equipment Analysis 30%

Analyzes, plans and coordinates major hardware acquisitions to meet current and future business requirements. Conducts requirements and needs analyses to determine information technology's benefit, practicality and applicability to AOC requirements.

Develops and conducts complex surveys and evaluations for major jurisdictions within the AOC and the Senate and House to prepare detailed hardware and software configurations to satisfy system requirements.

Evaluates, selects and implements information technology solutions. Provides authoritative assistance in the implementation of microcomputer-based systems using a variety of peripherals and software.

Serves as a point of contact for AOC offices seeking to introduce or improve ITD capabilities.


The incumbent is responsible for utilizing a thorough knowledge of and complying with applicable AOC and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner and to initiate or take corrective action on unsafe conditions in managed areas.
