Role Summary

The IT Specialist II plays a vital role in supporting various government operations by utilizing advanced technology. This position involves ensuring that all deliverables adhere to established schedules and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage both network and standalone servers, workstations, and network access
  • Diagnose and resolve system anomalies to maintain peak equipment performance
  • Prepare systems for operational deployment and assist in operational testing
  • Address AIS vulnerabilities and implement necessary countermeasures
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and practices for AIS and network nodes
  • Administer VTC systems, including scheduling and configuration
  • Provide direct client support for network issues
  • Handle account creation, modifications, and deletions
  • Deliver multi-level help desk support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Oversee hardware and software configuration, upgrades, and modifications
  • Support desktop and laptop configurations
  • Ensure systems meet the required IA controls
  • Conduct continuous monitoring
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in DoD/IC or a related industry, including at least 1 year in an SAP and/or SCI environment within the last 5 years
  • Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) or equivalent programs may be considered with customer approval
  • Must meet position and certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or 2
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in remediating vulnerabilities
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Windows server versions 2008/2012/2016, Microsoft Exchange server versions 2010/2013/2016, and Microsoft Windows operating systems 7/10
  • Familiarity with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies, including data backup technologies and communication security (COMSEC) integration
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively collaborate with various DoD, military, civilian, and contractor personnel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Demonstrates originality, creativity, and initiative with minimal supervision
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines with demanding performance expectations
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Ability to pass a government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI Poly)
