JOB OBJECTIVE

The primary aim of this position is to assist the Executive Chef with overall kitchen operations and catering responsibilities. This role involves crafting exceptional dishes while ensuring adherence to best practices and maintaining consistently high performance standards. The Chef de Partie will be expected to deliver kitchen-quality food products at various catering locations, comparable to those produced in a traditional kitchen environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A: Core Duties

Oversee a designated section and guide junior chefs in their assigned tasks.

Uphold superior standards of food quality and presentation.

Implement portion control as directed by the Executive Chef and accurately manage waste recording as necessary.

Prepare and cook dishes following the specific guidelines provided by the Executive Chef.

Collaborate effectively with fellow chefs and kitchen staff to achieve collective goals.

Assist the Executive Chef and other Chef de Parties in delivering a seamless and efficient food service as required by the catering division.

Support the Executive Chef in the daily management of kitchen operations, including but not limited to:

  • Monitoring stock levels and communicating ordering needs to the Executive Chef as appropriate.
  • Ensuring all deliveries during your shift are verified and stored correctly, maintaining quality and freshness, and managing stock rotation in line with best practices.
  • Participating in accurate stock audits.
  • Providing detailed handovers to the next Chef de Partie on shift as necessary.

Assist the Executive Chef in enhancing the catering operation in terms of service quality and profitability.

Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Take responsibility for the cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment in your work area.

Perform cleaning tasks, including washing equipment and utensils, and maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness in accordance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and OSHA regulations.

Support event catering and any additional catering services as required.

Foster constructive relationships and communicate professionally and clearly.

Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

B: Qualifications & Personal Attributes

Applicants should possess relevant qualifications and experience to fulfill the requirements of this role. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Chef de Partie in high-volume operations is essential.

C: Experience / Knowledge

Proven experience in a supervisory capacity within a busy commercial kitchen with multiple service areas.

Experience in menu and product development.

Experience in catering for large-scale events.

E: Personal Hygiene and Appearance

Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.

F: Food Safety and Health Regulations

All staff must adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines as outlined in the Handbook in accordance with statutory obligations.

Participate in all required training sessions.

Physical requirements include constant standing and walking, frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs, and occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance.

Safely load and unload catering vehicles with food and equipment.

Possess a valid Food Handlers Card and Manager ServeSafe Certification.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed, and employees are expected to assist in other operational areas when required.

Vaccination is a job requirement, with accommodations evaluated based on disability or religious considerations in compliance with applicable regulations.

While English is the primary language of communication, bilingual English and Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.

G: Additional Information

This is a part-time position, with attendance required based on business needs, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings as per a rotating schedule.
