Position Overview

We are in search of a dynamic Senior Application Security Engineer who is enthusiastic about safeguarding innovative technologies. The ideal candidate is driven by the desire to mitigate risks while facilitating swift and secure business operations. You will combine technical expertise with a developer-oriented mindset in your role. As a vital member of the Security Engineering team, your responsibilities will include securing Attentive's platform (operating in AWS) and customer-facing applications (primarily built using microservices in Java). You will serve as the main liaison for our AI/ML teams, offering hands-on assistance to ensure they can develop and deploy features rapidly without compromising security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives emphasizing automation, security-by-design, and scalability.
  • Ensure that Attentive's AI solutions are reliable and secure for customer use.
  • Conduct secure design assessments and testing for new systems and product features.
  • Collaborate with other Security and Engineering teams to develop and maintain tools that secure our code and underlying systems from development to deployment.
  • Provide direct support to engineers in implementing security solutions, strengthening services, and addressing vulnerabilities.
  • Engage in continuous threat modeling to safeguard our products and infrastructure.
  • Offer ongoing security guidance to developers across engineering teams.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as needed to enhance security across the organization.

Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years of experience in security, with a specialization in application security.
  • Proficient in coding and reviewing code in languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.
  • Strong understanding of modern web frameworks and the ability to remediate common vulnerabilities (e.g., using tools like Burp Suite, Semgrep).
  • Experience in automating and deploying application security tools within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Genuine interest in machine learning and security engineering, with the ability to discuss relevant threats (e.g., training data leakage, prompt injection, multi-tenancy workloads).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve objectives.
  • Skilled in communicating complex technical concepts, risks, and threats to non-technical audiences.
