Key Responsibilities:
  • Entrance Control: Implement the entry and identification protocols of the district, which includes operating security screening devices to identify weapons, contraband, and unauthorized items. This involves inspecting personal belongings such as bags, electronic devices, and other packages.
  • Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of court facilities and surrounding areas in accordance with established post orders.
  • Stationary Assignments: Maintain vigilance at designated posts, which may include monitoring surveillance systems, alarm systems, and other security apparatus, as well as overseeing courtrooms and related areas.
  • Escort Services: Provide armed escort for judges, court staff, jurors, and other authorized individuals as required.
  • Traffic Control: Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic on court property, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Law Enforcement: Uphold federal laws while executing assigned duties, including detaining individuals attempting unauthorized access to government property or court proceedings.
  • Documentation: Compile various reports regarding contract performance, including incidents, safety concerns, and unusual occurrences within the court facility.
  • Courtroom Security: Ensure the security of courtrooms by conducting inspections prior to proceedings and testing security equipment.
  • Order Maintenance: Provide a secure environment in the courtroom, enforcing laws and court regulations as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalent, with general arrest authority.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, along with the capacity to interpret and apply regulations.
  • Licenses: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the past five years; must pass a Department of Justice clearance.
  • Training: Completion of a certified law enforcement training program.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Physical Requirements: Must meet medical standards as specified by the United States Marshal Service.
Compensation:
$54.21 per hour.
