Position Overview:

The Senior Consultant for Technology Risk Management will play a pivotal role in the Technology Risk Management organization, focusing on a national initiative related to Medical Device and IoT Cybersecurity. This position involves guiding the medical device cybersecurity program and clinical healthcare technology teams in navigating the complexities of the cyber and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive cyber risk evaluations for medical devices to ensure compliance with NIST Controls, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead end-to-end cyber risk assessments, including scoping, planning, fieldwork, and reporting of findings and remediation strategies.
  • Provide expert advice on the design of Cyber Risk Controls, risk mitigation strategies, and compensating controls.
  • Consult on establishing cybersecurity baselines and hardening protocols across various medical device categories.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity tools used in the medical device sector, such as Identity Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
  • Guide the integration of security practices into the corporate medical device security framework, ensuring alignment with NIST and HIPAA standards.
  • Map IT Risk processes to Medical Device Cyber Risk processes, including workflows and documentation.
  • Offer advisory support to medical device cybersecurity practitioners on effective risk assessment methodologies and controls frameworks.
  • Set clear expectations with stakeholders regarding the assessment process, including scope, planning, and reporting.
  • Produce clear and concise Cyber Risk Assessment documentation, including reports and remediation plans.
  • Communicate effectively with Clinical Healthcare Technology Managers and cybersecurity operations, ensuring clarity and understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience (5+ years).
  • Minimum of 5 years in IT Audit, Risk Management, or Cybersecurity Risk Assessment.
  • Preferred certifications: CISA, CISM, and/or CISSP.
  • Experience in IoT and Medical Device Cybersecurity, particularly with patient monitoring and wearable devices.
  • Familiarity with risk/control frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 and HITRUST.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Security regulations and FDA cybersecurity guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex assessment projects effectively.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
