Job Summary

The Production Shift Supervisor is a key member of the manufacturing team at Sun Recycling, Inc. responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team of production associates and ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the activities of the production floor, under the direction of the business unit manager and follow established procedures and approved processes.
  • Supervise departmental production operations, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating shift activities to fulfill sales orders and meet inventory requirements.
  • Ensure the products meet quality standards by implementing quality control measures and conducting regular inspections.
  • Monitor the condition of production equipment, coordinate repairs with maintenance technicians, and ensure the completion of operators' portion of equipment maintenance.
  • Complete and provide daily reports regarding Safety, Quality, product quantity, and types.
  • Cooperate with HR and the production manager to train, monitor, develop, and discipline team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production floor, adhering to company standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience within a manufacturing environment required; 3-5 years of previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Leadership, strong ethics, safety conscience, organizational skills, and project management skills are essential for this role.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
  • This job is performed under some temperature extremes, elevated platforms, and some hazardous conditions.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
