JOB DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees the financial performance and expectations of the manufacturing facility.
  • Collaborates with Senior Leadership to strategize on the planning of facilities, equipment, and workforce necessary for plant operations.
  • Enforces Corporate and Facility policies, guidelines, and procedures to align with operational expectations.
  • Promotes Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards along with Quality Programs to ensure a safe and clean work environment while achieving high-quality production.
  • Ensures adherence to production schedules for timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Provides leadership and direction to the Operations team within the facility.
  • Works alongside Senior Leadership to establish and implement goals and objectives for the facility.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and operational efficiency of all equipment and assets.
  • Maintains open communication with direct reports to ensure alignment with Corporate and facility objectives.
  • Participates in Management review meetings to evaluate the efficiency and accuracy of Quality programs.
  • Facilitates the professional development of direct reports through performance evaluations and constructive feedback.
  • Assists in identifying future equipment needs or enhancements and recommends justifications for capital investments.
  • Establishes effective control measures to achieve facility objectives.
  • Supports the evaluation, selection, and justification of capital expenditures for equipment and facilities.
  • Monitors and manages facility budgets effectively.
  • Oversees inventory management to meet planned turnover rates and address any excess or obsolete stock.
  • Leads quality management initiatives, maintains relevant certifications, and drives continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manages labor relations within the plant environment.
  • Develops and implements Lean initiatives while ensuring sustainability of previous improvements.
  • Plans and directs cost reduction strategies.
  • Effectively leads personnel, ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
  • Implements strategic deployment and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensures maintenance of equipment and facilities is upheld.
  • Aims to meet output and profitability benchmarks.
  • Ensures production plans and schedules are effectively established and managed to fulfill customer commitments.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Regularly required to sit at a workstation; utilize hands for typing or operating devices; communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment subject to temperature variations and noise levels.
  • Manual dexterity is essential for operating machinery and computer systems.
  • Walking may be required throughout the day, up to eight (8) hours.
  • Repetitive bending and stooping may be necessary.
  • Repetitive pushing and pulling may be required.
  • Travel requirements are minimal, less than 10%.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience as a Plant Manager in a manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with proven critical thinking abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks.
  • Solid financial acumen and understanding of operational controls.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of machining and assembly processes.
  • Experience in Union Employee Relations is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is required.
  • Thorough understanding of production planning methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Project Management experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems is advantageous.
