The Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking will play a pivotal role in cultivating new relationships within our Commercial Banking sector through strategic business development initiatives, with a particular emphasis on lending, while also nurturing and expanding existing partnerships. This position is integral to our Loan Officer team, contributing to the structuring and execution of complex lending transactions.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Address the requirements of clients seeking loans, which may include unsecured funds or credit secured by various forms of collateral.
  • Conduct interviews with applicants to gather pertinent information regarding their business needs, capabilities, and financial standing to assess loan viability.
  • Engage with community and business organizations to enhance the Bank's reputation and establish referral networks within the market.
  • Formulate a sales strategy to prioritize and organize revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Identify and negotiate suitable loan and deposit options that enhance credit quality and profitability.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of comprehensive and relevant documentation for review by the appropriate loan approval authority.
  • Gather and analyze financial information to provide support on approved lines of credit, equipment financing loans, and more.
  • Make determinations on loans and terms within personal lending limits or recommend to the department head as necessary.
  • Utilize a Customer Relationship Management system to monitor business development activities and prospects.
  • Oversee an existing portfolio to ensure timely financial reporting, renewals, annual reviews, and modifications.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all products and services offered by the Bank.
Essential qualifications for this role include: exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of lending practices, the ability to identify missing documentation, advanced organizational capabilities, and the capacity to work under pressure. Candidates should also demonstrate independent thinking, analytical proficiency, self-motivation, and strong verbal and written communication skills, alongside a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in lending.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple computer systems and programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels.
  • Service-oriented, courteous, and respectful demeanor.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently until project completion.
Work Schedule:

Standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
