About the Role

As a Retail Banking Officer at Availa Bank, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and customer satisfaction in our retail banking division. This position is responsible for overseeing all functions and duties of the retail team in an assigned branch or region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage retail staffing across all assigned branches, ensuring adequate coverage and high-quality customer service.
  • Direct training for staff, including policy/procedure, sales, and customer service, to ensure they are equipped to meet customer needs.
  • Assess and manage facility needs on a regular basis to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Supervise and provide work direction to assigned staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Perform the functions of all retail staff positions as needed to ensure quality service to all customers.
  • Assist with complex customer issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
  • Serve as a point of contact and manage relationships for large commercial customers, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Perform consumer lending duties, including originating and servicing loans.
  • Serve as a point of contact and have working knowledge of troubleshooting and servicing coin machines, money handling machines, ATMs, and drive-up equipment.
  • Help the bank attract new customers and deepen relationships with existing customers through active outbound relationship building activities and focus on expanding existing customer financial solutions.
  • Assign work duties and examine work for quality, efficiency, conformance to policies and procedures as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years' banking experience preferred.
  • Prior experience managing a department and/or groups of people required.
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of operational policies and procedures.
  • Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Maintain working knowledge and understanding of business support functions and their contribution to organizational success, including human resources, information technology, accounting, finance, and operations support.
  • Travel to/from and work in multiple locations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
