Position Overview

HealthCare Support is currently seeking a Medication Order Specialist to join our team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently triage, interpret, and enter medication orders into the computerized system while adhering to accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
  • Conduct drug calculations, including basic math conversions (e.g., milligrams).
  • Address issues related to claims denials and follow up on claims in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Stay updated on Medicaid claim regulations and processes.
  • Generate reports and keep management informed regarding unpaid claims and those pending follow-up.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, aligning with company values.
  • Assist with medication preparation and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned, which may include supporting various areas within the pharmacy as directed by management.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy-related role.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medication terminology, and the metric system; proficiency in computer operations.
  • Licenses/Certifications: As mandated by state regulations; not required in New York.
  • Detail-oriented, goal-driven, collaborative team player with strong customer service and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a specialty pharmacy environment.

Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $19 to $21.
