Your Role
As a Senior Overhead Instructor in Technical Training, you will be based in our Millbury, MA office. This role requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record that aligns with National Grid's Safe Driver policy, and a minimum of a CDL Class A driver's license.

Job Purpose
Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional learning experiences that address the technical, regulatory, and safety training needs of our clients through a blended learning methodology. You will also support the creation and enhancement of educational solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate technical training programs using a blended learning approach, incorporating practical activities that reflect real-world tasks, ensuring compliance with external standards and operational priorities.
  • Assist in the design and development of innovative curricula and training programs tailored to client requests.
  • Act as a technical training consultant for various departments, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Administer assessments and conduct both physical and technical evaluations.
  • Represent technical training as a subject matter expert in various committees to ensure its relevance and understanding within the organization.
  • Evaluate training needs related to new equipment, procedures, and technologies to integrate best practices into our learning methodologies.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert in the development and modification of new technical training programs.
  • Stay informed about advancements in training to incorporate innovative ideas and requirements into our technical training offerings.
  • Define, create, and deliver comprehensive training programs, including lesson plans and instructional materials, to meet the business's learning and development needs.
  • Oversee learning records management, including tracking course completions, attendance, assessments, and qualifications.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in governance bodies and committees to ensure technical training is well-represented and understood across the organization.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; supervisory experience or advanced education in Engineering, Education, or a related field is advantageous.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Electrical Operations with extensive knowledge of Electric Overhead.
  • Must be a fully rated line worker.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including active listening and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a team environment, collaborating effectively, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety policies and overhead maintenance procedures, along with construction standards.
  • Understanding of Learning and Development principles.
  • Proficient in personal computers and various business-related software.
  • Must maintain at least a CDL Class A or B driver's license.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.
