Position: Employment & Training Specialist - Full Time

Location: Worcester, MA

Compensation: $19.55 per hour, plus a bi-weekly stipend of $40 for bilingual proficiency

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Role Summary

The Employment & Training Specialist plays a crucial role in guiding individuals towards successful life outcomes by helping them identify resources and support services available in the community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and nurturing employment connections between clients and local employers, facilitating access to a variety of job training and educational opportunities.
  • Assisting clients with resume creation, navigating the application process, preparing for interviews, and providing on-the-job support.
  • Promoting self-sufficiency and independence through skill-building activities focused on adaptability, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Providing vocational guidance, job development, placement services, employer education, and maintaining positive customer relations.

Note: Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish, Haitian, or Creole are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or a High School/HiSET/GED with at least 3 years of related experience.
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including various Microsoft applications and email.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record; willingness to transport program participants as needed.
  • Ability to travel within the region to meet with clients, employers, and community organizations.
  • Fluency in Haitian, Spanish, or Creole is preferred.
