Overview of the Global Human Resources Associate Development Program

The Global Human Resources (GHR) team is dedicated to fostering a workplace where all employees can thrive. We focus on recognizing and rewarding performance, providing growth opportunities, promoting inclusivity, and supporting the overall well-being of our employees.

Internship Program Overview

The Global Human Resources Summer Associate Development Program is a 10-week internship designed to immerse you in the workings of Bank of America and the GHR team. Our aim is to help summer interns build on their academic knowledge—specifically in technical skills, industry insights, and corporate culture—while exploring career paths aligned with their interests and backgrounds.

Your professional development is our priority, with extensive formal training provided at the beginning of the program, complemented by ongoing support, events, and mentorship throughout. Opportunities include:

  • Training sessions on Banking Mechanics, Data Literacy, Executive Presentation Skills, and more.
  • A Mentorship Program.
  • Enterprise Executive Speaker Series.

A Day in the Life

GHR internships span 10 weeks and align our human capital strategy with business objectives, enabling the organization to connect with clients by attracting, developing, and retaining a top-tier workforce. As a Summer Associate, you will be assigned to a specific team where your key responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting business and Global Human Resources initiatives that enhance the workplace environment, ensuring all employees can pursue their goals.
  • Engaging with senior HR leaders to gain insights into how HR influences critical business decisions and acts as a strategic partner across the organization.
  • Contributing to business advisory, operational tasks, HR processes, and special projects.

GHR Opportunities

The GHR Program assigns participants to various teams throughout the organization. Rotations may include roles in different HR functions, such as HR business partner/generalists, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Relations, Diversity & Inclusion, HR Process & Operations, Learning & Business Performance, and Global Talent.

Our objective is to provide meaningful, relevant, and diverse assignments based on real-time business needs while considering the skill sets of participants; therefore, specific functional assignments cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience is required.
  • Candidates must be pursuing an MBA or Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Common fields of study include industrial or organizational psychology, human resources management, communications, labor relations, organizational development, or related disciplines.
  • Candidates should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a commitment to operational excellence, and a focus on achieving sustainable results.
  • Strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office, along with proficiency in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical skills, and effective communication, are essential.
