Overview of the Global Human Resources Associate Development Program

The Global Human Resources (GHR) team is dedicated to fostering a positive work environment for all employees. Our focus includes recognizing and rewarding performance, providing growth opportunities, promoting inclusivity, and supporting the overall well-being of our workforce.

We uphold a culture of accountability and compliance, ensuring that all employees adhere to applicable laws, regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies. As a Summer Associate, you will engage in a structured curriculum designed to lay a solid foundation for your career.

Internship Program Overview

The Global Human Resources Summer Associate Development Program spans 10 weeks, introducing you to the operations of Bank of America and the GHR team. Our aim is to help summer interns build upon their academic knowledge, enhancing technical skills, industry insights, and familiarity with a corporate setting, while aligning their career aspirations with their educational background.

Your development is our priority, featuring extensive formal training at the program's outset, alongside ongoing support, events, and mentorship throughout the internship. Opportunities include:

  • Training sessions provided by the bank, focusing on various topics such as Banking Mechanics, Data Literacy, and Executive Presentation Skills.
  • A dedicated Mentorship Program.
  • Participation in the Enterprise Executive Speaker Series.
  • Access to 11 Diversity & Inclusion Employee Networks, including LEAD for Women, HOLA, Black Professional Group, LGBT+ Pride, and Military Support & Assistance Group.
  • Continuous educational events and speaker sessions.

A Day in the Life of a Summer Associate

GHR internships are designed to align our human capital strategy with business objectives, enabling the organization to connect with clients by attracting, developing, and retaining a world-class workforce. As a Summer Associate, you will be assigned to a specific team, where your key responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting business and Global Human Resources initiatives that enhance the workplace environment, ensuring all employees can pursue their goals.
  • Engaging with senior HR leaders to understand how HR influences critical business decisions and acts as a strategic partner.
  • Contributing to business advisory, operational processes, HR functions, and special projects.

Opportunities within GHR

The GHR Program places participants in various teams across the organization. Rotational assignments may cover multiple HR functions, including HR business partnering, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Relations, Diversity & Inclusion, HR Operations, and Learning & Business Performance.

Our objective is to provide meaningful and relevant assignments based on current business needs while considering participants' skill sets; therefore, specific functional placements cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience is required.
  • Candidates must be pursuing an MBA or Master's degree from an accredited institution, with graduation expected between November and August of the following year.
  • Preferred fields of study include industrial or organizational psychology, human resources management, communications, labor relations, organizational development, or related disciplines.
  • Candidates should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a commitment to operational excellence, and a focus on achieving sustainable results.
  • Strong academic and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, along with demonstrated leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical skills, and professionalism.
  • Bank of America does not sponsor visas for this specific role.
