Job Title: Director, Marketing VI

Job Summary:

The Director, Marketing VI will be responsible for developing and executing an annual marketing plan that strategically utilizes all platform programs, supports corporate marketing objectives, and positively impacts the center's core financial objectives. This role will also be responsible for implementing business development revenue opportunities, developing and implementing retailer intensification strategies, and promoting platform program opportunities to key retail partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an annual marketing plan that aligns with corporate marketing objectives and positively impacts the center's core financial objectives.
  • Implement business development revenue opportunities, including mall assets, media assets, and mall programming, to achieve financial sales goals.
  • Develop and implement retailer intensification strategies to drive awareness and sales.
  • Promote platform program opportunities to key retail partners and foster relationships.
  • Implement corporate direction regarding national and regional Simon/Malls brand marketing and SBV programs and initiatives at the field level.
  • Create annual marketing budgets based on retailer dues and allocate expenses to support platform programming, Simon initiatives, and brand messaging.
  • Forecast and maximize marketing dollars by analyzing sales performance and ROI on marketing programs.
  • Manage data input and use of Salesforce for tourism, deal management, lease actions, and inventory.
  • Oversee and execute tourism programs, including local, regional, national, and international initiatives.
  • Coordinate shopping center visual merchandising, signage, and advertising programs to ensure quality and effective use.
  • Manage marketing work surrounding center renovations, redevelopment, and expansions to ensure effective messaging.
  • Provide input on media plans, media buys, and media channels for effective reach of the target audience.
  • Work with the PR agency to enhance overall perception of the property and establish solid local media relations.
  • Drive growth and engagement of social media channels, data collection, SMS, and Email subscribers.
  • Develop professional business relationships with center retailers.
  • Drive Simon loyalty programs tailored to the individual property market and core demographics.
  • Oversee management and budget of the Guest Services operation, including hiring and training of the Guest Service Manager and Guest Services Representatives.
  • Drive growth of Simon Gift Card programs.
  • Oversee all financial forecasting budgeted for the marketing department and marketing programs.
  • Hire and oversee work assigned to the Marketing Administrative Assistant.
  • Participate in Manager on Duty rotation, staff meetings, and other relevant management responsibilities as a critical member of the mall management team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree with emphasis in sales, marketing, or business.
  • 4-6 years previous experience in strategic marketing, event management, sales, sponsorship, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of retail management, marketing, and advertising, and working knowledge of the media industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, selling, and negotiation skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others.
  • Superior computer skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate verbally, visually, and in writing.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and evenings.
  • Strong team building and coaching skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Some overnight travel required.
  • Ability to think strategically.
