Certification as an Insurance Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) is preferred. Certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) is preferred. Welcome all patients and their families, ensuring a high standard of customer service. Responsible for managing patient appointment scheduling, adjusting for urgent cases, verifying insurance, and maintaining electronic medical records. Assist with billing processes, including handling insurance claims, gathering billing data, medical coding, collections, and managing accounts receivable and payable. Function as part of a centralized medical office, performing any tasks within legal and competency limits to support office operations. Complete additional responsibilities as assigned. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, physicians, department heads, and leadership members. Utilize strong organizational skills to enhance workflow. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills consistently. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer, and PowerPoint. Maintain professionalism and composure in all situations. Ensure accuracy and honesty in all coding, billing, and claims submission processes to guarantee that only legally entitled funds are retained by the organization.
