Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for the Fitness Attendant role:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome members and guests with a friendly demeanor, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Promote wellness events and activities organized by the department.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from members and guests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage the opening and closing of the facility as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness equipment in all areas.
  • Regularly inspect and sanitize fitness equipment after each use.
  • Ensure that all amenities on the fitness floor are adequately stocked.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide guidance to members on the proper use of fitness equipment.
  • Enforce club policies and member guidelines in a courteous manner.
  • Respond to emergencies according to established protocols and report incidents promptly.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Issue fitness equipment to members as necessary.
  • Complete daily operational checklists in accordance with established standards.
  • Adhere to uniform and grooming policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
  • Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of managing a diverse range of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit tact and understanding when addressing various customer service challenges.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding service and leadership.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for a significant portion of the workday.
  • Frequent bending and stooping throughout the day.
  • Prolonged standing and walking for the majority of the workday.
