Job Description

Position Overview:

Selectek, Inc. is in search of a skilled BIM Technician to act as the primary liaison among the construction site, the BIM team, and the fabrication shop for various BIM initiatives. This position is integral to our prefabrication division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact between the construction site, BIM specialists, and the fabrication team for BIM projects.
  • Engage with engineers, site supervisors, project leads, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to establish internal timelines and ensure that high-quality drawings are delivered on schedule.
  • Support site supervisors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Participate in kickoff, design, and fabrication meetings, providing insightful contributions.
  • Foster a collaborative team atmosphere by maintaining communication with construction and prefabrication teams.
  • Develop a significant portion of a model without field Model Standard Operating Procedures (MSOPs), staying current with modifications and contributing to BIM development.
  • Prepare BIM documentation and drawings as the project evolves, incorporating updates from engineers and designers.
  • Revise drawings based on coordination with site personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Generate 3D BIM models from 2D schematics that accurately reflect the intended electrical installations.
  • Create detailed prefabrication and installation drawings, including assembly instructions.
  • Attend coordination meetings with other trades, which may involve travel to remote job sites.
  • Set up Navisworks files and integrate models from various trades.
  • Conduct clash detection analysis in Navisworks with other building systems involved in the BIM workflow.

Qualifications Required:

  • Associate's Degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Ability to interpret and understand design and construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt swiftly to changing circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit software.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $65,000 – $85,000 based on experience, along with an annual performance bonus.
