Position Responsibilities:The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, direction, and execution of a new manufacturing facility. This role encompasses various aspects, including facility management, maintenance services, and engineering oversight. The Project Engineer will provide technical expertise and collaborative leadership to ensure effective engineering practices and optimal utilization of resources.

Key Duties:

  • Coordinate and oversee the activities of skilled personnel, focusing on operational efficiency and project management methodologies.
  • Implement a proactive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Manage projects of varying scales, establishing timelines, allocating resources, and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Support and lead safety initiatives across the organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Guide and mentor team members in a collaborative environment to achieve operational goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment, assessment, and development of personnel within designated departments.
  • Track project progress, liaising with engineering teams to ensure alignment with schedules and budgetary guidelines.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to set and achieve both short-term and long-term operational objectives.
  • Engage with external vendors and contractors for equipment procurement and maintenance.
  • Monitor performance metrics to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Ensure all team members are adequately trained and adhere to established procedures and protocols.
  • Lead the planning and design of the new manufacturing facility, collaborating with IT leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering; a master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years in progressively responsible technical supervisory roles.
  • Proficient in Structured Problem Analysis.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA, DEP, and NFPA safety standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership in capital project management.
  • Experience with automation and innovative manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Project, as well as project management tools like GANTT, PERT, and CPM charts. Familiarity with CAD, CAE, CAM tools, and Great Plains is essential.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
