Role Description:
The Project Manager/Manufacturing Site Developer plans, directs, and leads the development of a new manufacturing site. This includes, but is not limited to, the facilities and maintenance services, and engineering. The Project Manager/Manufacturing Site Developer provides technical guidance and collaborative leadership skills, ensuring sound engineering practices and effective use of our facilities, processes, and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans and collaborates the work of the highly skilled staff, placing particular emphasis on operations uptime and project management methods.
  • Leads pro-active Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program while guiding the maintenance operation, toward 100% equipment up time.
  • Project management responsibilities on both small and large projects, including establishing schedules, assigning resources, monitoring performance, and keeping projects on time and on budget.
  • Supports and provides expertise on safety programs throughout the enterprise, including OSHA, DEP, and NFPA requirements, the design and delivery of all safety programs, and monitoring of said programs.
  • In a cross-functional environment, leads and directs staff to accomplish goals efficiently.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, evaluation, and development of staff in assigned departments.
  • Manages the progress of projects, confers with project engineers, and ensures reporting mechanisms are in place to see that development is progressing according to schedule and within budgetary and time guidelines.
  • Works collaboratively with the CEO and all levels of management to establish and reach short- and long-range operating goals.
  • Collaborates with outside vendors and contractors on equipment.
  • Monitors and assures metrics are achieved for assigned areas. Ensures that all assigned departments are achieving objectives.
  • Monitors work area processing to assure all operators are trained and follow procedures and work instructions.
  • Leads a plan to develop and design the New Manufacturing Site, as well as collaborating with the Director of IT and the new warehouse in North Carolina, in a cross-functional environment.
  • Travel up to 3 weeks a month.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or electrical engineering; master's degree in a related field a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in increasingly complex, technical supervisory positions.
  • Skilled at Structured Problem Analysis.
  • Familiar with OSHA, DEP, and NFPA guidelines, and plant safety requirements.
  • Leadership with experience in capital project management.
  • Automation and new methods in the Talalay process to implement in a new manufacturing site.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Project, and other Office Microsoft Office software applications, GANTT, PERT, and CPM charts. Knowledge of CAD, CAE, and CAM engineering tools and Great Plains is required.
  • Familiar with Lean manufacturing methods.
