POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of a new manufacturing facility. The Project Engineer will ensure that engineering practices are adhered to while providing leadership and technical expertise in the areas of facilities, maintenance, and engineering operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and manage the efforts of a skilled workforce, focusing on operational efficiency and effective project management.
- Drive a proactive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative, aiming for optimal equipment availability.
- Implement and support safety programs across the organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Lead a cross-functional team to achieve operational goals, including recruitment and development of personnel within designated departments.
- Oversee project timelines and budgets, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure progress aligns with established objectives.
- Work closely with executive leadership to set and achieve both short-term and long-term operational targets.
- Engage with external vendors and contractors for equipment procurement and project execution.
- Monitor performance metrics to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Ensure that all operators are properly trained and adhere to established procedures and protocols.
- Guide the design and development of the new manufacturing site, collaborating with IT and logistics teams.
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of achieving results through team collaboration.
- Strong team-building and proactive engagement skills.
- Ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience with automation and innovative methods in manufacturing processes.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering; a master's degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of ten years in progressively responsible technical supervisory roles.
- Expertise in Structured Problem Analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in managing capital projects.
- Familiarity with OSHA, DEP, and NFPA safety regulations.
- Strong verbal, written, technical, conceptual, and financial communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and leader.
- Strong project management capabilities in a collaborative environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Project, as well as GANTT, PERT, and CPM charting tools.
- Understanding of manufacturing maintenance operations management.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Solid understanding of planning and scheduling processes.
- Strong commitment to completing projects on time.
- Familiarity with CAD, CAE, CAM engineering tools, and Great Plains software.
