Position: Manufacturing Project Engineer

Location: Greensboro, NC
Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000
Travel Requirements: Up to 3 weeks per month, with 40% travel to Connecticut

Role Summary

The Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible for orchestrating the establishment of a new production facility. This position encompasses the management of infrastructure, maintenance operations, and engineering initiatives. The role demands providing technical direction and fostering collaborative leadership to ensure the implementation of effective engineering practices and optimal utilization of our facilities and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of skilled personnel, focusing on operational efficiency and project management methodologies.
  • Champion the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative to attain 100% equipment availability.
  • Contribute expertise to safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and monitoring the execution of all safety protocols.
  • Guide and mentor staff within a cross-functional team to meet objectives; responsible for the recruitment, assessment, and development of personnel in designated areas.
  • Track project advancements, liaise with project engineers, and ensure effective reporting systems are established to monitor progress against timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set and accomplish both short-term and long-term operational objectives.
  • Engage with external vendors and contractors regarding equipment procurement and maintenance.
  • Ensure performance metrics are met for all assigned divisions and departments.
  • Guarantee that all operators receive proper training and adhere to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Lead the strategic planning and design of the new manufacturing facility, working closely with IT leadership and logistics teams.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing capital projects.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and financial acumen.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Robust project management skills in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Understanding of manufacturing maintenance operations and lean methodologies.
  • Effective planning and scheduling capabilities.
  • Strong commitment to timely program completion.
  • Knowledge of engineering software tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering; a master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in progressively responsible technical supervisory roles.
