Position: Manufacturing Process Specialist
Location: Greensboro, NC
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000

Role Summary: The Manufacturing Process Specialist will oversee, guide, and manage the engineering and maintenance teams. This position requires providing technical direction and collaborative leadership to ensure effective engineering practices and optimal utilization of facilities, processes, and maintenance operations. The specialist will be instrumental in establishing a new manufacturing facility and ensuring its operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document innovative methods, processes, and protocols.
  • Analyze key performance indicators to detect trends and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate the activities of skilled personnel, emphasizing operational uptime and project oversight.
  • Lead and mentor staff in a multidisciplinary setting to meet objectives; responsible for the recruitment, assessment, and growth of team members in designated areas.
  • Oversee project timelines, collaborate with project engineers, and ensure mechanisms are in place for tracking progress within budgetary and time constraints.
  • Work closely with executive management to define and achieve both short-term and long-term operational objectives.
  • Promote and implement lean methodologies throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that assigned departments meet their performance metrics and operational goals.
  • Supervise work processes to guarantee that operators are adequately trained and adhere to established procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and the new warehouse in a cross-functional capacity.
  • Willingness to travel up to three weeks per month, with a significant portion of travel to other locations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Capability to balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in automation and the implementation of new methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Structured problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven experience in managing capital projects.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DEP, and NFPA regulations and plant safety standards.
  • Strong verbal, written, technical, conceptual, and financial acumen.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Robust project management skills in a cooperative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Project) and project management tools such as Gantt, PERT, and CPM charts.
  • Understanding of manufacturing maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Effective planning and scheduling skills.
  • Strong commitment to timely program completion.
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAE, CAM engineering tools, and relevant software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering; a master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in progressively complex technical supervisory roles.
