Position: Project Engineer


ROLE SUMMARY
This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, direction, and execution of a new manufacturing facility. The Project Engineer will offer technical expertise and leadership, ensuring the implementation of effective engineering practices and optimal utilization of our facilities and maintenance operations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Directs the design and development of the new manufacturing site while collaborating with IT leadership and logistics operations in a cross-functional team.
  2. Coordinates the efforts of skilled personnel, emphasizing operational efficiency and effective project management strategies.
  3. Champions a proactive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative, steering maintenance operations towards achieving maximum equipment uptime.
  4. Provides expertise in safety protocols across the organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and effective delivery of safety programs.
  5. May require travel for up to three weeks per month.
  6. In a collaborative environment, leads and guides team members to meet objectives efficiently. Responsible for recruiting, assessing, and developing talent within assigned departments.
  7. Monitors project progress, collaborates with engineering teams, and ensures that development adheres to established timelines and budget constraints.
  8. Works closely with executive leadership and management to set and achieve both short-term and long-term operational goals.
  9. Engages with external vendors and contractors regarding equipment procurement.
  10. Tracks and ensures that performance metrics are met for designated areas, while also confirming that all departments are fulfilling their objectives.
  11. Supervises work area processes to guarantee that all personnel are adequately trained and adhere to established procedures.
  12. Performs additional duties as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of achieving results through team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach and team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in implementing automation and innovative methods in manufacturing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree in a related field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of ten years in progressively responsible technical supervisory roles.
  • Expertise in Structured Problem Analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing capital projects.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DEP, and NFPA regulations, along with plant safety standards.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, technical, conceptual, and financial skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as both a team member and a team leader.
  • Strong project management skills, with a collaborative approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Project, as well as GANTT, PERT, and CPM charting.
  • Understanding of manufacturing maintenance operations management.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Solid grasp of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Strong commitment to driving projects to timely completion.
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAE, and CAM engineering tools is required.
