Position Overview:
The Automation Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the operational efficiency of manufacturing and packaging machinery. This position demands a solid foundation in Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines, utilizing tools such as Rockwell engineering software, electrical diagnostics, and networking capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment malfunctions, engaging in thorough failure analysis and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to swiftly address issues, employing investigative techniques and follow-up actions to ensure system reliability.
  • Oversee the maintenance, testing, and enhancement of all production machinery, including the installation of new manufacturing and packaging systems.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of site instrumentation.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary, in addition to routine automation maintenance tasks.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with management, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and machine operators.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of experience in industrial automation maintenance is required.
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs/VFDs and Rockwell Engineering tools is essential.
  • Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills are mandatory.
  • Experience in instrumentation diagnostics and calibration is preferred.
Position-Specific Skills:
  • Ability to utilize Studio5000, RSLogix5000, RSLogix500, and RSLogix5 software for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Competence in online downloading with Rockwell Engineering tools using Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232.
  • Capability to implement minor programming modifications.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and symbols on P&ID diagrams.
  • Experience working with multimeters and control panels operating at up to 480VAC.
  • Familiarity with replacing and configuring AB PowerFlex VFDs.
  • Experience with PanelView series HMIs and application downloads using Rockwell graphics tools.
  • A willingness to enhance technical skills further.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and network fundamentals is advantageous.
